Lithium Chloride

Lithium Chloride is produced by treating lithium carbonate with hydrochloric acid. It is mainly used for the production of lithium metal by electrolysis. Lithium chloride is also used as a desiccant for drying air streams, and in biochemical applications to precipitate RNA from cellular extracts.
