  • The first four digits of the lot number are the product code
  • The next three digits of the lot number represent the Julian date
  • The next two digits represent the last two digits of the year
  • The last two digits represent the sequence of lot numbers assigned that day

Puritan Products brand chemicals utilize UN (United Nations)-approved packaging. UN-approved packages are third-party tested to 49CFR part 178 for material compatibility, package strength (drop, stack and vibration tests), and package integrity (leak, hydrostatic and vibration tests). These packages carry a UN mark to describe the package’s suitability for use. See an example of a UN mark.
