Puritan Products of Bethlehem has donated $2,000 to the Lehigh County Hazardous Materials Response Team. The company directed that the funds be applied toward calibration and sensor replacement expenses associated with the hand-held gas monitoring instruments used by first responders. The gas meters are used by the response team when managing hazardous materials incidents in confined spaces. The ongoing expense is necessary to maintain the instruments in a ready state and to assist firefighters in managing hazardous materials emergencies. Puritan Products, Inc. is a manufacturer of high purity custom formulated and specialty chemicals that are used in research and quality control laboratories, universities, and for manufacturing in the pharmaceutical, microelectronics, and other industrial markets.
