Puritan Products, Inc. Voluntarily Invites OSHA into Facility
Puritan Products was the first LVISN participant to volunteer for an OSHA audit. We accepted this challenge because of our extensive knowledge of the federal regulations, our confidence in our employee training programs, and the pride we have in our facility.
The voluntary audit process assisted us in improving existing aspects of our operations, and in adding new programs such as the creation of a Safety Committee comprised of an equal mix of management and hourly employees. By successfully maintaining this committee, we have laid the foundation for participation in OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).
This positive experience proved that OSHA can work with industry non-intrusively while providing education and the promotion of process and worker safety at no cost and without fines. Several other LVISN organization participants have since opened their facilities to voluntary audits and have reported similar positive experiences.
Puritan Products continues to actively promote and create a safe knowledgeable, responsible work environment across the Lehigh Valley and, we hope throughout the chemical industry.
