Several members of the Puritan staff participate on the Lehigh County HAZMAT Team. One of those employees serves as the Science Officer of the team. Puritan also holds seats on the Lehigh County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and on the Steering Committee of the Lehigh Valley Industrial Safety Network (LVISN).

Lehigh Valley Industrial Safety Network (LVISN)
The LVISN is a unique partnership between local industry and the regional branch of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It was established to strengthen the safety programs and processes within the chemical industry and to enhance the safety of employees and our neighbors in the Lehigh Valley. Presently, 40 businesses send representatives to monthly LVISN meetings, with attendance growing through the organization’s outreach efforts.

The proactive approach of the LVISN in fostering harmonious cooperation between government and industry to improve workplace safety has captured national attention. One of the more notable programs involves LVISN participant organizations voluntarily welcoming OSHA into their workplaces to jointly explore and address safety issues and concerns.
