Annual ISO 9001: 2000 Audit reveals commendation from QSR auditor During our recent annual ISO 9001 audit, Puritan Products, Inc. received a commendation for producing less than 0.1% nonconforming products in the past 12 months. The Quality Systems Registrar, Inc. (QSR) auditor noted that the low incidence of nonconforming products demonstrates a high level of overall process capability and attention paid to the selection of critical suppliers, manufacturing procedures and staff training. Of additional significance to the auditor is the fact that Puritan holds monthly management meetings to provide a forum for reviewing facility operations, customer issues, and continual improvement initiatives. Puritan Products became ISO 9001 certified in April of 2003. In order to maintain the ISO certification, audits are performed annually by an accredited auditing organization such as Quality Systems Registrars, Inc. (QSR). These audits address all aspects of ISO 9001 parameters including documentation, continuous improvement, the quality management system, internal auditing process, and management review of the established quality system. In order to maintain certification, these aspects of ISO must be consistent with the goals of the ISO 9001: 2000 standard. |
